The Hood Paris is a neighbourhood café, restaurant, and community hangout on Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud. We opened nearly ten years ago out of a simple need: good coffee, good company, and the Southeast Asian flavours we missed most from home. Singapore sits at the heart of that story - not as a concept, but as a lived food culture where everyday dishes matter.

After our first pop-up in 2016, one dish unexpectedly became the star of the show: chicken rice. People travelled across Paris to have it, brought friends, and asked for it again and again. In Singapore, chicken rice is the definition of humble comfort—simple, satisfying, and always there for you—yet built on layers of flavour and precision that leave no room for shortcuts.

That response made the decision clear. We chose to put chicken rice on the menu proudly and permanently, and to treat it with the respect it deserves. At The Hood Paris , it’s cooked with care, balance, and consistency

Over time, it became the dish our community keeps coming back for, week after week, anchoring everything we stand for: familiar comforting food, done properly.

We’ve spent years fine-tuning our version using the best local and international produce we can find: a plump French yellow chicken gently poached until tender. A super aromatic broth. Rice cooked until fat and fragrant with stock.

We serve it two ways: a classic Hainanese Chicken Rice, clean and comforting, and Roast Chicken Rice, crisp and fragrant with a bit of zing. Both come with a cup of broth and our three sauces: homemade chilli, ginger-garlic, and sweet dark soy.

And now, starting 17 January 2026, we're introducing CHICKEN RICE SUNDAYS. Bring two friends, order two chicken rices, and the third one’s on us: all we ask is that you post to Instagram (yes, Stories count).
